1st Original Issue in Textured Gatefold sleeve with EMI advert inner sleeve and limited edition lyric sheet.

 

  • 1st pressing was by The Gramophone Co Ltd of which there are two versions with different track type face fonts.

The Gramophone Company Ltd legal entity was renamed EMI Records Ltd. in 1973

 

  • 2nd pressing in 1976 was by EMI Ltd. There are label versions saying "Made in GT Britain" or "Manufactured in the UK".

Plus different wording of the track text/listing and rim text around edge of the Harvest label without the yellow lyric sheet.

  • There were further EMI pressings with various rim text changes up to at least 1981.

The Electric Light Orchestra (First Light Series) is a two disc expanded special 30th anniversary edition of their debut album. 

Released in 2001 in the UK, disc one contains the original ELO album plus bonus tracks and an interactive CD-ROM feature, while disc two features the oldest surviving live ELO material with co/founder Roy Wood and cellist Andy Craig.

Post 2015 

Notes

A re-press was released after 2015 when EMI was sold to WEA and the EMI back-catalogue was then presented under the Parlophone Label.

 

Changes were made to the CD label by removing all mention of "EMI" text and the EMI logo, which were replaced with "Parlophone" text and logo.

The Cat Number remained the same, but note new rear bar code label/text.
